How It Began
Mandarin Chatterbox began after I introduced Mandarin and Chinese culture to children at my school. They loved trying to speak a new language, discovering the Chinese zodiac and learning about the landscapes and traditions of China.
Seeing their excitement reminded me that language learning can be joyful, playful and full of discovery. I created Mandarin Chatterbox to give young children more opportunities to explore Mandarin through songs, stories, movement, sensory play and cultural activities—without the pressure of formal lessons.
Meet Judy
Founder
Hi, I’m Judy, the founder of Mandarin Chatterbox.
I am a native Mandarin speaker, a UK-qualified primary teacher and an internationally educated learner. I grew up experiencing both Chinese and international education before studying and training as a teacher in the UK.

Through my work in primary schools and early-years settings, I have seen how naturally young children respond to music, repetition, storytelling and imaginative play. I believe that early exposure to another language can help children become more confident communicators, while encouraging curiosity and respect for cultures beyond their own.

Mandarin Chatterbox brings together my Mandarin background, teaching experience and passion for creating warm, engaging learning experiences for young children.
